Media Coverage – Walk This Way Productions
Walk This Way Productions is a Miami-based event planning, image consulting and fashion show production company founded by Lakeland native Angela Bailey. For 13 years, it has produced The Ultimate Fashion experience, a premier fashion show held near the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday annually. The event sells out every year, yet it receives no media coverage whatsoever.
Angela wanted to change that, and she turned to Lorrie Walker Communications for help. We started by interviewing Angela as though we were the reporter gathering information for a story. We found a seemingly endless supply of story angles we could use to pitch to media outlets. The story of how Angela got to where she is today is a story of inspiration. Her sister and business partner, LaWanda Bailey, provided another great story angle because of her involvement in a charity the sisters founded called Urban Reflections.
In addition to posting the event on a variety of events calendars throughout the greater Tampa Bay area, we approached television, radio, online and print media outlets for coverage. The results were remarkable.
News Channel 8’s Rod Carter produced a segment about Walk This Way Productions.
Bay News 9’s Virginia Johnson compiled a story about Angela’s and LaWanda’s upbringing that ran during Black History Month.
Real Success Radio hosts Loura Townsend and Coach Jim Jones asked Angela to come on the show and they recorded a great interview.
Listen Lakeland also interviewed Angela.
The Ledger wrote a story on LaWanda’s involvement in Urban Reflections, the sisters’ nonprofit organization designed to help girls with social and health awareness, tutoring and developing a positive self image. Article here.
Based on the media coverage we garnered for the Ultimate Fashion Experience, we have been asked to spearhead a media relations effort for an upcoming Miami fashion show.
