I started as an intern at Lorrie Walker Public Relations last semester. The PR pros at LWPR taught me so much, and I am thankful to continue my experience this semester.
Let me tell you, LWPR is on the move. One new addition I’m looking forward to working with is our new intern, Nick Tsikuris. He brings fresh ideas, enthusiasm, and a friendly personality. Not only will Nick’s skills and passion benefit the office, but it will also be nice to have a male perspective in an estrogen zone full of strong female voices.
Nick is a senior at Florida Southern College studying public relations and advertising. He is one of thefew, fortunate students who knows what he wants to do when graduation rolls around in May: public relations.
He looks forward to improving his writing skills and gaining more knowledge about the public relations industry during his time with us.
“I consider myself to be a very professional individual and I want to learn as much as I possibly can,” Nick said.
Nick is a PR, advertising, and social media guru. He specializes in engagement and digital media.
Nick is well respected in the Florida Southern College Communications Department as a hard worker and innovative thinker. His leadership is shown through his role as president of Lambda Pi Eta, the Communications Department Honor Society.
LWPR’s location is nestled above a local coffee shop. I always look forward to smelling the freshly brewed coffee on my way up to the office. I warned Nick that working here might cause him to overdose on caffeine with the tempting espressos just below our feet.
“I absolutely LOVE the idea of working above Mitchell’s Coffee House!” Nick said. “I’ve always wanted to work in a coffee shop, mainly because I love the smell of freshly brewed coffee, but this is the next best thing.”
Nick is a native Lakelander and looks forward to becoming an even bigger part of his community and home.
“LWPR is very well connected within Lakeland, especially the Downtown area,” Nick said. “Being an intern and being able to experience those connections first-hand, and potentially working with those connections will help me to better understand my home and how to establish those networks.”
I am a faithful follower of Nick on Twitter, and I am excited to see how he uses his expertise on this social media outlet to help with campaign and brand strategy.
Twitter is Nick’s favorite social media outlet. He likes how “to-the-point” it is, and he can weed through silly tweets, he said, adding, “I’m able to follow people and companies I really care about and stay up to date on the news as well.”
A New Year brings new beginnings for Lorrie Walker Public Relations. Stay tuned for more intern tales.
